I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me, please? Just picture your life for me? Thirty years from now, forty years from now? What’s it look like? If it’s with him- go. Go! I lost you once, I think I can do it again, if I thought that’s what you really wanted. But don’t you take the easy way out.”

One In A Million Woman

Khanyi-Dhlomo-Antonio-Banderas-Scarlet-Temptation-SA-Launch-2017-1030x1030 (1)

Khanyi Dhlomo.  Its only been a year since her company Ndalo Media had secured the South African licences for the Elle and Elle Decoration media brands. The licence covers print, digital, events and other related brand extensions and was awarded by the brand’s French owner, Paris-based Lagardère Active. That is one many successes under her brand.

I decided to profile on this remarkable woman who’s got it all : the beauty, brains, money and thriving careers.

Khanyi Dhlomo is the Managing Director of Ndalo Media, which she founded in 2007. She is also the founder of DestinyConnect and the founding editor of Destiny Magazine. Before starting her own media company, Khanyi was editor of True Love magazine for eight years. In 2013, Khanyi ventured in retail and launched Luminance, a high-end fashion and lifestyle department store. Khanyi was named most influential woman in South African Media by The Media Magazine in 2003 and made the 2011 Forbes list of 20 Young Power Women in Africa.

It’s with no doubt that Khanyi is a one in a million woman and entrepreneurship runs in her veins.

She is an inspiration to all young woman as she started her career at the age og 20 as a media reporter. She was then approached to become the anchor for SABC’s prime-time evening news programme. Her love for print media took a successful turn when she changed her career path and made a move into magazine production. She joined the Beauty and fashion magazine called True Love and became its editor at the age of 22, expanding its publication’s readership in record time and won a plethora of industry award for her efforts.

Being one of her followers myself, I have leant a lot from her and her entrepreneurial skills.

I have learnt that constant growth, self-development and knowledge-seeking are key factors behind success. By equipping yourself with knowledge and information, you arm yourself with the tools to get ahead in business and stand out. I’ve learnt be clear about aspects of my life and really invest in them. I can really go on but It shows that you only need to be your genuine self to leave constructive impact in people’s lives. Love what you do and have faith that everything will work out for the best. She recently did an Interview on Real Talk with Anele and I want share a few things she spoke about that added value to my life and journey in entrepreneurship.

In following your dream, she says:
“You don’t have to know the how, you need to know the what and the universe will move everything else around you to create the how. This is because your how also impacts somebody else.”
Khanyi also spoke a lot about making a positive impact in people’s lives.
“We’ve really got to say (to God) “Use me, I’m ready, this is what I want to do and on this journey from where I am to where I want to be, I want to take and impact as many people as I can.” I think those are the most beautiful dreams and the most sustainable.”
On growth and evolution, Khanyi says:
“The most important thing we need to realize is that everything is about the growth and evolution of the soul. Everything else around us that we see, our relationships, our jobs, everything that happens is really just an instrument for the soul to grow and the question we always need to ask ourselves is, Am I growing? Am I becoming better? And even if you make a mistake, the thing to ask yourself thereafter is what can I learn, and what can I do differently to make sure that I get back on this track of growth, which is the purpose of our existence. ”

Thank you so much for taking your time to read through, I appreciate it.

SIDE HUSTLE – Unique ways to make an extra income ..

“Never depend on single income. Make investment to create a second source” that’s a quote from Warren Buffet, who is Known as the “Oracle of Omaha” and one of the most successful investors of all time. I totally agree with his statement, with our “moody” economy and an increase on our cost of living – one needs a second source of income. As an aspiring serial entrepreneur, I have decided to touch on Side hustling. If you always wanted to start a side hustle but weren’t sure which direction to go to then this post will add value to you.

I will share a few ideas you can utilize in your journey towards financial freedom  and give you tips on getting started. I want to clear out that I am no business expert, this is based on experience and personal research. Like anything you want, you will need to put your heart into it and work extremely hard for it.

Freelance Your skills  – There are so many things you can freelance to get extra cash. you can be a freelance writer, photographer, graphic designer and etc. There are a few websites that cater for freelancers, where you can set up a profile, list your services or even search for freelance jobs related to your filed. You can sign up with Upwork and build your profile on
Personal Shopping – I personally did this back in 2015/6 when I had my online boutique running. A personal shopper an individual who is paid to assist another to purchase goods, either by accompanying them while shopping or by shopping on their behalf. There are a lot of people with hectic schedules, they don’t have time to buy groceries or clothes for that matter. Those people should be your target market, you can charge per hour or on how many stores you going to go to. You can add Styling, Image Consulting, and Wardrobe Organizing to your services as time goes on. This can be done on weekends when you off duty or during lunch if you close to the mall. It easier when you work around your schedule.

Have your own Uber – I have a friend who is currently making a killing with this. he is a photographer by profession so when his not shooting he “ubers” people around and makes good money especially at night. Please familiarize yourself with Uber’s policies if you want to venture into this hustle.

Re/sell Clothes via an E-commerce store – I did this! I used to have an online boutique selling clothes and branded/none branded items at a reasonable price. You can use sites like Shopfy, winx, Ebay or amazon to set up an online store plus you can build and design your store the way you want.

House Sitting – Who doesn’t want free accommodation in return for money ? If this is your kind of thing then go get your money babe. you can utilize sites like for the latest house sitting opportunities in South Africa. The provide trusted Housesitters and they are the world’s largest house sitting network.

I will now move on to giving you tips on getting started with your side hustle. Here are five straightforward steps that’ll help you start something successfully.

Find your Passion
What sets your soul on fire ? It’s no secret that plenty of side hustles are born out of passion, creativity or personal interest. so more than anything you need to like what you doing, when you are passionate about something it is easy to put in the work and work late nights.

Be Prepared to Work
Already you are putting in the hours on your 9-5 and you probably thinking you plate is full already. a side hustle wont be a walk in the park but a lot of hard work. Please remember you are trying to start/grow your hustle and it’s only going to add one more heaping serving to your already full plate. Be ready to buckle up for your hustle journey.

Make sure that you love what you do
As cliché as this might sound but loving what you do is a total game changer. You can’t invest in a miserable project. If you’re working to make your side project a full-time business, working nights and weekends will only be sustainable if you really love it.
Have Boundaries – Balance
Juggling responsibilities at your 9-5 is already difficult and when you’re trying to manage your side hustle in addition to your tasks, the art of juggling will only get tougher. I know you probably thinking how are you going to manage both commitments ? As I said I am no expert, this is based on experience and personal research. Lets talk boundaries, it is important to set clear boundaries if you are going to juggle two commitments. first of all don’t handle your side hustle projects during “working hours”. Set times from your “off” hours to handle your side business and don’t forget to set times for yourself. Have strict boundaries.

Utilize social media and networking.
Social Media is the go-to marketing tool for any business, I mean who is not living in the digital era right now ? You can create pages with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or WordPress. Build up a portfolio, engage with your followers and have killer visuals. Networking is great because you will be adding a personal touch in terms of selling your business. make friends and collaborate if you see fit but Social media and networking can work miracles to promote your business and will be super valuable to both you and your work.

What you do need is an idea, some time, and the determination to see your dream through to the end. If you can make it work, the financial rewards can be well worth your time. I will be sharing my side hustle soon, I will include the ups and downs I am facing.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope I Added some value, motivated you to start your Side hustle.

Have a lovely day.

Hope In A Weed …

Hey Guys,

I am not sure if some of you have noticed but I havent been posting as I promised on my last post, so much has happen in a short space of time. My last post was about my birthday wish list as I was approaching my birthday which was on the 20th February, I was very excited but Life had other plans for me. I spent my birthday in ICU, so much for being excited right ? I know. I spent about a week in there, and I am currently in and out till I am fully diagnosed.

This wont be one of those depressing posts as I am trying to get out that zone. Honestly this year has already started on a rough note but I know everything happens for a reason. I know that this is a test and there is going to be light at the end of this dark phase I am going through. More Than anything, Keeping strong and positive has been a priority but most of all, Praying has kept me saint. My Family and Friends have been amazing and supportive at these trying times. My Partner even brought my friends to my hospital ward on my birthday, I was isolated so they had to wear masks and all but I was happy they tried.
No matter what you going through, don’t give up on yourself and always try to be positive. our minds are powerful, so when we fill them up with positive thoughts – our lives start to change. I am going to share 2 of my favourite Poems by Beauteous Beast and The Poetry Peddler, poems about Courage and Not giving up.

Courage by Beauteous Beast
It’s not about the ghosts or the demons
The heart breaks and rejections
It’s about the happiness and contentment
Not minding what you’ve imperfect
What you’re scared of doesn’t matter
As long as you know that you’ll be better
Head up, stay strong
and never give it up all.
Hope in a Weed by The Poetry Peddler

There’s always a tiny glimmer of hope
left within my fractured heart
when seeing that one dandelion
standing tall after a rainstorm
even after all the battering
that resilient little weed
refuses to give up.

I know a lot of us are going through Hard times but always keep your Head up and stay strong. Sometimes when things are falling apart, they may actually be falling into place. Be a RESILIENT WEED, REFUSE TO GIVE UP.

Have a lovely day.

Its my birthday month!!!!! So I am part of the comitee that fell for the trap of Growing up but I am super excited regardless. I am normally never excited about birthdays but since its #20BOMY, I am going to celebrate it. My birthday is on the 20th, I was born on a Thursday at 10h30 – I am a miracle baby as my mom would say. Apparently I came out of nowhere, whatever that means ( story for another day ). Since Its my birthday I have compiled a Birthday Wish list, a list of things I would like to have, things that am lusting for. Check out below …

So I am a clothing designer and I am currently using a Singer second entry-level machine.
I would love to upgrade to a Brother industrial machine as it’s not limiting as my current one. The one I have is great when you are still starting out but as time goes on it gets limiting in terms of finishing a garment or just exploring as a designer. This baby costs about R12500 but it will be worth it.

I am currently on a 9-5 and the company I work for is very strict on their brand and Image. I have a company uniform that I wear and It is compulsory to match it with a black bag. I only have 2 black bags and one is history already. So a black bag is on the list of things I would love to have.

I am exhausted, I literally have eyebags because I have been overworking myself and struggling to sleep at the same time. I deserve a spa package, the last time I went for a massage was last year – how sad ? I need some pampering and relaxation PLEASE !!!

KING’S BEACH – Nelson Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth)

This was part of last year’s bucket list but I couldn’t fulfill it as I decided to go to school to advance my clothing design skills. I would love to soak up in the sun and enjoy the beach. The last time I went there I was 5 or 6 years old and I was scared of the water then ( I once drowned but story for another day).

This is a NEED!! I am a book-worm, I have always loved reading from a young age. I would love Paulo Coelho’s book collection, it’s about 10 books. Paulo Coelho is a phenomenal writer, a lyricist and novelist. His a recipient of numerous international awards, I fell in love with his work from reading the The Alchemist.

There are a few things I would love to add but I will only share my Top 5 today.
Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your reviews and love. Dont for forget to follow and enter your email address at the bottom to receive notifications whenever I post. I will be posting on a regular, Mondays and Wednesdays/Fridays.

Have a lovely day.

Happy New Year!!!

I kind of feel like am late with the New year’s greeting but It’s still January so am safe.
I hope you guys had a safe crossover to 2018 and I trust you have your plans and goals in check. My posts wont be about resolutions, I don’t have any – I am more of a ‘vision board’ kind of soul but that is something I will share next time. Today’s post will be a little different, I have grown interest in “The Currently Journaling Challenge”, an introspective Journaling I will be posting every week if not every second week because of my busy schedule.
So here we go, currently I am…

FOCUSED ON : My personal progress, my goals, my plans and working towards a clear direction for my path. I am focused on being consistent, keeping my head up and being always positive.

LEARNING : To do one thing at a time, plan properly and have a better execution. There is so much I want to do and I have learnt not to overwhelmed myself cause nothing is successful  when there is too much going on. I am learning to start and finish one thing at a time then move on to the next.

READING : The bible everyday. 2017 tested my faith and I almost lost it – I almost gave up but my God didn’t allow that, instead he brought me closer to him. I started building a relationship with God all over again, I Started praying and allowing him into my Life. I stopped asking God for signs but instead I asked for his word. John 14:27 reads “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ” – His word spoke to me, 2018 I wont worry or be afraid but I will seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to me.

WATCHING : The Good Doctor, my boyfriend is obsessed with it and I wasn’t keen on giving it a chance but I eventually I gave in because his always glued to it. It’s an American medical-drama television series about a young autistic surgeon who has savant syndrome, relocates from a quiet country life to join the surgical unit. Having survived a troubled childhood, Shaun is alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, but he finds his niche using his extraordinary medical skill and intuition to save lives and challenge the skepticism of his colleagues. I wont dwell too much on it, I love it but I am still a DIE HARD Grey’s Anatomy Fan.

ADVENTURE PLANNING : Planning a small soft adventure this weekend, taking my boyfriend hiking. Its my second time hiking, the trail takes approximately 45min to 2 hours – not bad. Our goal is to keep Fit and healthy while having fun. I will post about the experience on my next blog post.

EXCITED ABOUT : FEBRUARY!!! Its my son’s and I’s birthday month, his cute self is turning 4 and I am so excited. watching him grow since birth has been nothing short of amazing, his the light of my Life and I will always celebrate him. We not planning anything Big this year but we will do something which I will share soon.

Thank you for stopping by, Have a lovely day.

The Woman Code: 20 Powerful Keys to Unlock Your Life

The Woman Code by Sophia A. Nelson.

Hey Guys,

I am in the process of starting a book club, so while I was with busy planning last night I thought why not share the one of many books that changed my life. I’ve always loved reading and writing from a young age, I used get straight A’s in Reading and Writing. During my last year in high school, I presented the school at a reading and writing competition and came up top ( lovely memories). I wish I took my writing seriously after high school instead of following what my parents thought was “right” for me at that time but I have no regrets because I became very stubborn with my dreams after I realised the time I have wasted on courses that didn’t add value nor made me happy at the end of the day. It goes back to the reason why I started my blog ( after many attempts ), I want to advance my writing skills and be consistence. Consistency is the devil, a devil am willing to take on.

Before I go on about more of my high school memories, let me share this book with you guys. Life is not a smooth walk in the park, as much as I always think I got things under control (good or bad) I still need an escape, a safe place and It can be with friends, a confidant, your diary but with me it was this amazing book. At that time I didn’t have a confidant to share my “stuff” with and I remember how frustrated and angry I was, it was terrible. I honestly didn’t know my regular trip to the book store will change my life.

The book is called The Woman Code by Sophia A. Nelson, an award-winning author and journalist. She is a woman on the move, with an emerging global platform that is making strides to help women re-defIne themselves and unlock their lives by tapping into the power within.

This book is about unlocking 20 Powerful keys to your Life. I am all about woman empowerment and I remember how this booked helped me with my first woman empowerment event. In this inspiring book, Sophia A. Nelson calls women to live out a powerful life code that will lead them to purposeful and successful lives. The book is divided into 5 sections: The Personal Codes, The Emotional Codes, The Spiritual Codes, The Professional Codes and The Relational Codes. Each section contains four of each code.

My personal favourite code was The Spiritual Codes, Code 10 : Apologize Quickly.

Apologizing quickly. this was hard for me as I am naturally a stubborn person, always seeking understanding by interrogating. I wouldn’t apologize if something didn’t make sense to me or if it confused me, I even took pride in that.  I started noticing how everyone I fought with had the same perception of me after the fight, “Bomy you don’t apologize, You are emotionally selfish”. I then started observing myself and self studied my self, my thoughts and emotions. I am always writing on my diary, so I would go back to my old diary entries to check if I wasnt over reacting and to be honest after  my “self study” I realised that I never apologized quickly, at that present moment. After that, it hit me that they were right, I felt little pathetic as I am a very understanding person but struggled with apologizing. I always felt I was losing something when I had to apologize. I realized that nothing is about ME in relations, weather relationships, friendships and etc. What I learnt from this code is that the ability to apologize is a key virtue that, if learned early in life and practiced faithfully, will bless your life and lengthen your days. It will build your family. It will nourish your children. It will comfort your spouse. It will create safe havens for your relationships. It will protect and honor your friendships. And it will heal, defuse conflicts, and cover people in ways untold. I am glad I learned this earlier that late because It had helped mold the woman I am and the woman I am becoming.

The book has a lot amazing codes that I would love to share but its going to a lengthy post. This is an easy-to-read book, it’s a book for our time, based on timeless truths. Through personal anecdotes, real women’s stories, and practical wisdom. For someone who hates repeating, I have read this book a countless times and I would recommend to any woman because you will learn the true meaning of ‘having it all’. How to take better care of your minds, bodies, and souls. How to achieve professional excellence without compromising your values. How to find lasting love and purpose in life beyond your accomplishments·, how to navigate the sisterhood of women, to build collaboration rather than competition. How to heal from past hurts, rejection, and life’s inevitable storms and much more The Woman Code is a way of living, of navigating life’s challenges, and of interacting positively with other women. It’s a way of pursuing our dreams and our deepest desires. It reveals a universal and timeless set of principles of the mind, body, and spirit that help women balance the demands of work, home, family, and friendship. The Woman Code not only calls on women to practice purpose in their lives, it shows them how to do it with grace. Remember that everything starts with you, Sofia added a personal touch by sharing her experiences and how she aligned them with the codes. You don’t have to live her life or mine but you can improve yours  with these amazing codes. This book has added a lot of value to my life, very informative and I don’t regret purchasing it.  Go grab your copy.

Thank you for stopping by, Have a lovely day.

Hey guys!

Welcome to my blog AllthingsBomy, I am glad you stopped by.
It was such a struggle to decide what to post as my first blog post, I’ve grown to be such a perfectionist and I want everything to make sense to me first before the next person reads it. I am going to share a few things about me and what makes me happy, we’ll call it a “mini introduction”. I am going to share 5 things that make me Instantly happy, I am sure from the list you will pick up what kind of soul I am and what sets my soul on fire. There is a lot that makes me happy but I’d probably have to write a book and publish it hahaha.

The reason I decided to post about happiness is that ever since my father passed away I never enjoy the festive season. I sadly shut down and cave in because Its hard getting used to him being gone. I am slowly picking myself up and trying to enjoy the festive season, I started focusing on the little things that made me happy and I must say change of focus helped me to not dwell on sadness and rather embrace my life because I know my dad would have wanted that for me. Okay! Enough about sadness, check out the 5 things that make me happy INSTANTLY.

COFFEE – I am not sure if I was born with it or maybe its CAFFEINE!! yes you right, I am part of the caffeine-dependent family and I love it. I have an intense, personal admiration for the ‘Life-juice” that keeps me sane, alive and strong. So I start out my morning with a cup from my local coffee spot SEATTLE COFFEE COMPANY, I always order either a Grande Black Coffee, Cafe latte, or a Caffe Breve. I love trying our new coffee spots every chance I get, I feel like its more than just coffee, it’s the feelings that comes after that smell of beans and sip of magic and the love that keeps me coming back. I love it.

MUSIC – I always say music is the Art that goes in the ears and straight to the heart. Music is my safe place, I am pretty versatile with what I listen to as long as its good on the ear and on my heart. I am obsessed with Thandiswa Mazwai, Yuna, Chrisbrown and Party Next Door to name a few. I love live bands and going to concerts, It creates fire to the untold story.

SMILES – I am a smiley face and it makes me happy when people smile back and at me. With so much going on in the world, the power of a smile makes everything better. we may be broken but with smiles there is hope for us.

SLEEPING – I love my sleep although it’s a struggle sometimes when insomnia visits. Our bodies need to recover and repair from our busy schedules , so I try to sleep as much as I can and let my body rest.

FOOD – Thinking of pizza as I type this , Chicken and mushroom Pizza with extra cheese, avo and more mushrooms. I am a self-proclaimed foodie, food makes me happy. Good food means good mood hahaha.

I hope this inspired you to find happiness in the little things and mostly find happiness overall. Dont wait for someone to hand it to you but rather take it to your owns hands. Hope you enjoyed the read, and remember happiness is not out there, its in you first.

Have a lovely day.
